Nach 20 Jahren Pili Pili startet Jasper van´t Hof 2006 sein neues Bandprojekt

"HOT  LIPS", ein Projekt in der Tradition seiner erfolgreichen Ensembles wie Pork Pie und Catherine-Mariano-Van´t Hof.

Jasper van´t Hof wird sowohl akustisch (Flügel) als auch Keyboards spielen. "Umtriebener Wirbelwind", "fantasievoller Keyboardwizard" sind Umschreibungen, die ihn in seiner mehr als 35-jährigen Karriere umgeben.
"HOT  LIPS" überzeugen mit ideen- und abwechslungsreichen Kompositionen, schönen Melodien,  Improvisationen und klanglichen Stolpersteinen, für viele auch eine Erinnerung an Gruppen wie Soft Machine oder Chicago.

Der Reiz des neuen Ensembles liegt im elektro-akustisch angelegten Konzept, kraftvolle, anspruchsvolle Bläsersätze neben lyrischen Passagen, mal funkig mal mit anspruchsvollen Soli.

15 Jahre Moscow Art Trio, es ist an der Zeit die Geschichte des Moscow Art Trios zu erzählen. Eine skurrile Geschichte, die sich aber so zugetragen hat. 
Das Trio mit seiner grenzüberschreitenden Musik zwischen Jazz, Klassik und Ethnischer Musik zählt zu dem Feinsten was es gibt!
Nicht auf schnellen Erfolg ausgerichetet, sondern an der Freude zu musizieren.Traumwandlerisch eingespielt präsentiert das Moscow Art Trio mehr denn je moderne Kammermusik und Jazz ohne Grenzen. Das Trio beherrscht den Mix aus barocker Verarbeitungstechnik, tondichterischer Qualität, neutönerischer Härte und natürlich allen Spielarten des Jazz von Folk über Cool bis Free und Bebop.

Eine schwere Krankheit zwang Misha Alperin für längere Zeit eine Pause einzulegen bis im Herbst 2005 ist eine Konzertreise durch Europa geplant werden konnte, auf der  im September 05  in Bremen ihre neue CD  bei Radio Bremen  im Sendesaal aufgenommen wurde.

After twenty years of Pili Pili, Jasper van't Hof embarked on his new band project "Hot Lips," which featured wind instruments and no African musicians. They first got the idea for it on the Pili Pili anniversary tour, where the three-man wind section from Hot Lips got together and had so much fun playing that they realized it would definitely become a whole new project. Once again there's something new, initiated together with musicians who have long been closely connected to Jasper van't Hof; the music looks back and ahead simultaneously, and is based on the experience of his band projects such as Pork Pie or Catherine-Mariano-Van't Hof.

But composing for three wind instruments was an entirely new experience as well as a challenge.
"Hot Lips" provide a convincing mix of varied and inspired compositions, attractive tunes, improvisations, sonic surprises, and European chamber jazz - not American, not Scandinavian, and inspired throughout by Jasper van't Hof.

The attractiveness of the new ensemble lies in the electro-acoustic concept, which features powerful and sophisticated wind writing alongside lyrical sections, with solos that are sometimes funky, sometimes deeply expressive and complex. They also fall back on elements of jazz-rock-funk, all the way to the modern and garish use of sound colours.

15 years of Moscow Art Trio - Trio celebrates with new album

Finally Moscow Art Trio has released a new album again! More ripe, more balanced and more spiritual than earlier works. The long awaited new CD, with the playfull title Instead of Making Children, will be released early february by Jaro Records and can be ordered already online (www.jaro.de).  Directly following the release of the cd Moscow Art Trio can be seen in concert during their European tour, starting febuary 1st (more information www.jaro.de).

"Instead of Making Children" was recorded in Radio Bremen, september 2005. It contains unique, new material: for the first time you can hear Misha Alperin's and Arkady Shilkloper's vocal qualities. Even though all material is written by Alperin, and not based on the folk songs, the spirit of Old Russia is very much there. All lyrics are written by Sergey Starostin. The record shows the virtuosity and tightness that Moscow Art Trio is known for (comparable only to the brass section of Tower of Power). The Trio combines this virtuosity with silent and meditative stories, which create a poetic atmosphere and give the cd a mystical flavour.
